Designed on passive solar principles, the Getaway features a centrally located masonry fireplace. Stepping through an entrance archway and down a set of steps, the kitchen and living area rest in adjacent bays. An exterior deck adjoins the interior space with double doors, which enables passage to the adjacent bays' deck. Two bedrooms are located on the first floor. One of them, the master bedroom, features a dual-use shower. From the foyer one can gaze up the masonry stairwell and out thru a series of skylights. The upper floor has a large study and a second bath. The overhead windows are located in areas with 14 ft. vaulted ceilings. Solar panels can be added upon homeowners request.
